The Engie-operated Cygnus gas field offshore UK has started production.
Engie said on Thursday that Cygnus, located in licence areas P1055 & P1731, is expected to contribute 5% of UK gas production – supplying sufficient gas to heat the equivalent of 1.5 million UK homes.

Brazil’s Petrobras has started production from the FPSO Cidade de Maricá, located in the Lula field, in the pre-salt layer of the Santos Basin, offshore Brazil.
The Cidade de Maricá is a floating, production, storage and offloading unit that produces, stores and transfers oil. The vessel is located at approximately 270 kilometers from the coast, at a water depth of 2,120 meters.
According to Petrobras, with a daily production capacity of up to 150,000 barrels of oil and 6 million cubic meters of gas, this is the seventh major definitive production system in the pre-salt layer of the Santos Basin.
With this additional unit, the pre-salt layer of the Santos and Campos basins already accounts for 35% of Brazil’s oil production.
Vantrunk supplied the cable management systems for the water treatment packages built by Veolia includng the Speedway Cable Ladder and Heavy Duty Cable Tray.

Burntisland Fabrication (BiFab) has reported that 4600 tonne Cygnus accommodation module has set sail from its Methil yard in Fife, Scotland to the North Sea on July 23, 2015.
The 4600 tonne Cygnus accommodation module, together with a 3400 tonne wellhead jacket and piles, are now en route to the Cygnus gas field located 150 kilometres off the Lincolnshire coast.
The sail away marks the completion of two major contracts by the Fife fabricator on behalf of the gas field’s operator GDF SUEZ E&P UK Ltd (part of the ENGIE Group) and partners Centrica Energy and Bayerngas.
